After months of winter, we are excited that Spring has officially arrived in Lake Anna. Although it’s still very chilly, flowers are blooming, and soon enough we will get to enjoy warmer weather. So what home maintenance tasks should you be concentrating on this spring? Begin with the basics!
Roof: It’s time to inspect your roof. Look for missing or cracked shingles. Curled shingles could also be a problem. Patch any leaks that could cause trouble during the spring showers.
Gutters: Most likely than not they are full of leaves. Clean them out and inspect your gutters. Make sure that the water is being directed away from your home.
HVAC: Replace your air filters and schedule your spring tune-up.
Windows: Clean your windows, screens, and frames. Ensure that there are no leaks and if you need to replace your weather stripping or caulking.
Siding: Inspect for water damage that gutters could have caused. Clean the mildew off your siding. You can use a brush or a pressure washer.
Deck: Sweep off leaves and dirt and give it a good cleaning. You can also use a brush, but pressure washing will be quicker. After you are done cleaning it, apply a deck sealer.
Shrubs: Trim any overgrown shrubs, especially the ones around your HVAC system. Overgrown shrubs can damage your siding, windows, and roof.
